david and shirleyDavid and Shirley Norrington, Veterinary Surgeons and Clinical Directors

David and Shirley both graduated in Glasgow in 1996. After this they both moved to Yorkshire to work with farm, equine and domestic animals. They then worked in two  small animal veterinary hospitals in Nottingham and Lincoln, before moving back home to Ayrshire to get married. David started Valley Veterinary Group in 2001 and after working in a small animal practice in Paisley for 9 years, Shirley joined him when they opened their new purpose built surgery in Kilmarnock in 2009. They have 3 boys and 2 dogs, Harry and Eric. When they are not working they spend most of their time enjoying time with their family.

Jamie Nisbet, Practice Manager

Jamie has been with the practice in 2004. As well as being our practice manager, she has a busy home life helping her husband run a farm. Along with all their cattle and sheep they have a variety of other animals, including their pet dogs, a 3 legged kitten, a pet sheep, 5 horses and a goat. Jamie imageenjoys the variety that comes with her job and loves working with the rest of the team. When not at work, or working on the farm, she enjoys family time with her 2 children and breeding her dachshunds.

Kelly Pauley, Head Veterinary Nurse

kellyAfter dreaming about being a veterinary nurse since she was small, Kelly studied at Barony College for two years after leaving school and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in May 2008. She has been with Valley Veterinary Group since 2009. She loves all aspects of her job and we’re sure this is her second home! She also oversees all the nurse training in the practice and makes sure all the vets run a tidy ship! She is recently started back at work after having her baby boy who was born in June 2016!

Lauren Murphy, Registered Veterinary Nurse

Lauren began working with us in 2011 as a Receptionist, she showed a keen interested in nursing and as of November 2015 is another of our Registered Veterinary Nurses. Lauren lives in Stewarton with her husband and 4 year old Rottweiler, Sasha, and enjoys long walks with the two of them and has recently got married. She enjoys watching Greys Anatomy, Harry Potter and Disney films and strongly believes she is a Disney princess waiting for her letter arriving from Hogwarts!

Katie Kerr, Registered Veterinary Nurse

Katie joined our team in August 2016, she completed her Veterinary Nursing training at Barony college and graduated in November 2016. She says Veterinary nursing has always been her dream job. Katie has 3 pets of her own, her cat Delilah, her dog Bonnie and her dog Aria.

Caitlin Hodge, Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Caitlin is the baby of our team at just 22! She has been with us since 2015 starting as a nursing assistant but is now in the middle of completing her HND Veterinary Nursing Course to become fully qualified! She has a farming background, so loves all creatures great and small. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her 2 family dogs and is currently learning how to snow board.

Natasha started with us in July 2015 after completing a course in Animal Science at SRUC. She is one of our animal nursing assistants after also spending some time working as a receptionist. Natasha has just started her training to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her horse and 3 rabbits. She also likes to keep very active and enjoys hiking.

Rebecca Rafferty, Veterinary Surgeon

Rebecca graduated from Edinburgh university in 2016 and joined us shortly afterwards. Rebecca has a keen interest in exotic species, especially reptiles, and she is always happy to have a chat with you about the health or husbandry of your scaly pets. When not at work, Rebecca loves spending time with friends and family, and she is also kept busy with her own pets. These include, a dog, two bunnies, a created gecko, a corn snake, a tortoise and a giant African land snail!

 Meghan Lynes, Veterinary Surgeon     

Meghan is one of the newest members of the VVG team, joining in July 2017! Meghan graduated from Glasgow University in June 2017 and has a keen interest in Small Animal Internal Medicine and Cardiology. She has two Westies at home named Spud and Jimpy and is also very attached to one of our practice managers dogs, Lola the Jack Russell! Outside of work Meghan enjoys camping, cycling and hill walking but also likes to put her feet up in front of the telly. Meghan is a local girl and has already fit very well into the VVG team.

Amy Brown, Veterinary Surgeon

Amy is our newest addition to the VVG team joining in August 2017! Already a familiar face after starting school work experience here in 2010, she has worked as a receptionist and nursing assistant. She also spent time here as a Vet Student before graduating from Glasgow University in June 2017. Amy has a passion for travelling and has visited Australia, Morocco, Botswana and explored much of Europe all in the past year! Her ambition is to work with wildlife in Africa one day. For now, she lives locally and is fitting into the team already.

Marie Laing, Veterinary Receptionist

                                                 Marie is a long-standing member of the team and has been here at Valley Veterinary Group since 2004! Shemarie enjoys working with the rest of the team and likes all aspects of her job. Marie has 2 children who each have families of their own, giving her 6 grandchildren. When she is not busy with the family, her wee terrier cross dog, Buddy keeps her on her toes, as he is just over a year old and is very active! In her spare time she enjoys spending time at her caravan with her partner.

Sandra Jeffrey, Veterinary Receptionist

Sandra is another member of the team who has been with VVG for a long time, spending over 10 years here and she says she intends on stayiimageng for a long time yet! She has 2 children, 4 grandchildren, 2 dogs, a cat and 21 chickens, all of whom keep her very busy and who she enjoys spending with. Sandra enjoys working for Valley Veterinary Group and finds the job very interesting and especially likes working with all the other members of the team.

Tracy Mabon, Veterinary Receptionist

Tracy has been part of the team at Valley Veterinary Group since April 2012, she loves her job and enjoys working with the whole team. She has been married for 22 years and has 2 children and 2 dogs who are obviously a big part of her life and who she loves spending time with. Tracy and her husband love going to country shows and holidaying abroad.

Laura Farquhar, Veterinary Receptionist

Laura is the toughest member of our team, spending 7 years in the territorial army. This allowed her to travel to a variety of different places including France. Laura has worked at Valley Veterinary Group since 2014 and enjoys her job a lot. She spends her free time with her partner and 2 young children who keep her very busy at home.

lynnLynn McFarlane, Veterinary Receptionist

Lynn started with us at Valley Veterinary Group in 2016 after spending 16 years in hospitality and she says it is definitely a change for the better. She lives in Dundonald with her 2 young boys, Jack Russell Molly and 28 year old horse Ginnis who has been her loyal companion for 23 years. In her spare time Lynn enjoys pottering in her garden and giving Ginnis some well earned attention.


Nicola Cherry, Veterinary Receptionist

Nicola joined our team at Valley Veterinary Group in November 2016. Nicola worked in hospitality for 11 years and has a Diploma in Administration and I.T. Before joining us she was studying for a Diploma in Accounting and Finance. Nicola lives with her partner, daughter and 2 little bunnies called Bella and Bambi. Her spare time is spent being a taxi for her young daughter, taking her to baton twirling competitions.

Ashley Gordon, Practice Administrator

Ashley has been a member of the team since 2010. She was one of our animal nursing assistants which she loved, she says there is nothing better than seeing a patient that was once very ill walk out the door healthy again and with a very happy owner! Now, due to personal circumstances, she is our practice administrator and is enjoying her new role within the practice. She spends her spare time with her husband, 2 young children and dog Daisy.
